OQ16: A life of dreams with Dr Dave, Part Two

Psychologist and podcaster Dr David Van Nuys talks about the benefits of keeping a dream journal and of being part of a dream group. Dr Dave shares some of his experience of working through real life examples of nightmares and how we can use nightmares in our dream life as growth opportunities in the waking life. I share one of the recurrent dreams and how the dream evolved with time and Dr Dave offers his comments on the dream based on the process of dream work from Robert Jonsson’s book “Inner work” and the technique if-this-were-my-dream. After the conversation, I discuss the consequences of not giving one particular dream the attention it deserved when I found myself overwhelmed and didn't seem to know what I really wanted. To celebrate the irony in our lives I close the episode with "my first day with a moustache", another track from Baasztian's latest album "diagnosis: chronically ironic". Do you keep a dream journal? Was there any particular dream that you used to resolve a challenging situation? Leave a comment in the comment field after the episode or drop me a line at oqpodcast@gmail.com.

OQ15: A life of dreams with Dr Dave, Part One

In this conversation psychologist and host of the Shrink Rap Radio Psychology Podcast Dr David Van Nuys, or "Dr Dave", talks about Freud's and Jung's understanding of the unconscious and the functions of dreams and the methods the two big minds used to work with dreams. This is a great introduction into the subject as we will be exploring dream work based on the teachings and insights of Carl Jung in the next episode. Follow the drama as self-diagnosed (diagnosis: chronically ironic) and interested in psychology Baasztian passionately sings out his desire of "killing lew wallace", the inventor of the snooze button, on this track from his latest album.
